Abstract: The accident occurrence can be understood as the system abrupt and qualitative change caused by the continuous change of some parameters in the system. The transfer of the system from safety state to accident state is in fact an abrupt phenomenon. The paper makes a detailed analysis of the accident causes, describes the application of abrupt theory in the accident prevention management and illustrates that it is very necessary to apply the abrupt theory in the accident management and to establish the accident abrupt theory.
