Abstract: Based on the geological and mining conditions，footwall benchless mining method for open-pits is firstly used in china，instead of the conventional open-pit mining design.176m high slope is created in Xinqiao open pit mine，and then high slope stability is studied.A series of measures are adopted in order to solve the problem of the stability of high and steep slope.Practices for many years in Xinqiao Mine indicate that the application of footwall benchless mining method for open-pits in Xinqiao Mine is successful，with good economic effects achieved.It can provide a reference for the exploration of similar mines.
