Abstract: Producing Mn-Fe alloys with direct reduction to manganese oxicle ore has been researched. The effect of the basicity, carbon coefficient and additive on Fe-Mn alloy producing process were discussed and analysed. The results show that, the appropriate basicity is the important condition to separate the slag and metal, the carbon coefficient influences the metallic phase migrating and gathering, additive has a strong impact in reducing the melting point of slag and promoting the metal grain grow up together. The Fe-Mn alloy containing Mn71%, Fe17%, C7.0% is obtained in the condition that the temperature is 1 350 ℃and maintain 30 min, basicity is 2.0, carbon coefficient is 1.0, the amount of additive is 5% of total amount of CaO+Al2O3+SiO2+MgO slag.
