Abstract: Through the preliminary study of the different geological body rock of rare earth geochemical characteristics in Longtoushan，it is found that no matter the total of the rare earth，the distribution patterns，or features of δ（Eu）value，which indicate，gold ore bodies in the region are the most similar to the quartz porphyry and breccia，and gold and quartz porphyry，breccia in the long geological process has inherited the characteristics of evolution with a close mineralization relationship. Therefore，during the prospecting and exploration of Longtoushan gold mine in the future，Longtoushan gold ore should carry out the work according to the mineralization characteristics of middle-low temperature secondary volcanic post thermal type gold ore. Except for ore-prospecting in porphyry，other ore prospecting at favorable tectonic section should be paid attention.
