Abstract: The medium-length hole of blasting is applied in an open-pit mine and an acid reservoir dam is planned to be constructed nearby the final boundary of it.In order to study the effect of blasting vibration on stability of the dam,the field testing of blasting vibration was carried out and the formula of the maximum vibration velocity was obtained by regression analysis method.Furthermore, the formula of maximum vibration velocity at the dam was modified according to the actual engineering environment.Based on this, the safety factor of the dam affected by blasting vibration at different stages of open-pit mining was analyzed by using the numerical simulation. The results showed that the dam is stable during the first stage of blasting and the dam has a poor stability during the second stage of blasting. The plan of decreasing the maximum explosive dosage at the second stage was proposed.
