Abstract: The unsuitable appellation of mining methods would make it difficult to understand by professional and non-professiolan personnels, and even to cause misunderstanding.Therefore, it is significant to discuss the appellation of the mining methods,and to put forwards the principles and standardization that should be abided.The problems such as randomness, out-of-date and ambiguity in the appellation of underground mining methods in metal mines were discussed.The rules and thereunders were posed according to analyzing the existing mining methods amd mining heights.They will be used to standardize the appellation of underground mining method in metal mines.This research has a seientifical value in mining.
