Abstract: For large coal storage yards and coal transport system，two ways of dustproof like water spray and windproof suppressing are currently adopted  However，the windproof dust suppressing technology is an optimal choice for the openpit mine field in north of ChinaThe current situation of the dust and wind preventing and controlling meshwork is introducedAnd then its principle is elaborated after testing the wind tunnels and analyzing the onsite data and based on the mechanism of dust controlling and is introduced in classificationFinally，the successful application of windproof and dust suppressing wall in Heidaigou openpit mine is discussed
