Abstract: The relation among acoustic emission parameters is studied through the analysis of the acoustic data of several rock samples in breakage. It is found that there is an inevitable relation between rock structure and its acoustic emission. The law of acoustic emission activity is analyzed by graphic fitting of various test parameters and the curves of the time-related change of fractal dimension and of the acoustic parameters are compared. The result indicates that there is a correlation between the time-related change trends of fractal dimension and the acoustic emission parameters. Not only can the fractal dimension characterize the frequency of acoustic emission but its least value often predicts a large breakage.
