Abstract: Discussion is made on the influencing factors of initiating system design on blasting in applying large area multiple-row blasthole short-delay explosion system in open-pit mines.The concept and property of the burning front in the design of such explosion system are described and the case study is made on the design of its burning front，providing important reference to the blasting system design and laying a good foundation for an efficient，safe realization of large scale blasting.
