Test Research on the Collector for Sulfuric Acid-free Flotation of Dachang Multi-metal Sulfide Ore

Abstract: In view of the fact that Changpo cassiterite ore containing multi-metal sulfides has a complex composition, requires a high sulfur acid consumption in bulk flotation, causes serious erosion of equipment and environment pollution, test research was carried out on developing a collector for the bulk flotation of sulfide minerals without sulfuric acid. The results indicate that higher xanthate can float sulfide minerals without sulfuric acid but has low recovery of lead-zinc sulfides, with the xanthate with 9 carbon atoms having the best performance. Mercaptobenzothiazole has a better performance than xanthate for collecting lead-zinc sulfides and new collector DT08 has the best collecting effect for sulfides. It can recover 87.63%, 91.83% and 90.98% for lead, antimony and zinc respectively at a copper sulfate dosage of 100g/t without sulfuric acid, being 14.19, 27.22 and 5.81 percentage points higher than those by conventional reagent regime respectively, thus reducing the production cost and improving the production environment
