Abstract: In light of the current monitoring technology used in the coal mines in China, the paper presents a technology of interconnecting a wireless sensor network (WSN) into the coal mine safety monitoring system.A system model for interconnecting the WSN into the existing monitoring system and the software and hardware of the relevant access gateway are designed and realized. The access gateway is mainly composed of single-chip microprocessor ATmega128L and smart RF chip CC2420 and the control module is communicated with the industrial computer via an interface-chip MAX485.The system meets the needs of mine safety monitoring and is characterized by easy installation, high sensitivity and good stability.
