Abstract: A mineral processing plant adopted a beneficiation process of gravity separation-flotation- gravity separation. Its gravity separation for pretreatment using a combination of φ2000 mm spiral sluice and spiral classifier to discard tailings had a very low tailing discard rate and the tailing of the spiral sluice had a high tin content, leading to a great loss of tin metal. Therefore, it was proposed to use a sawtooth wave jigger to replace the spiral sluice for treating the circulating load of duplex spiral classifier. The laboratory test produced a jigger tailing containing 0.08% Sn, 0.07% Pb and 0.38% Zn, with the tailing discard rate reaching 55.52%.The metal recoveries of the jigger concentrate were 90.67% Sn, 86.50% Pb and 89.26% Zn.The industrial test achieved metal recoveries of 91.22% Sn, 87.10% Pb and 80.35% Zn from a feed assaying 0.61% Sn at a tailing discard rate of 54.13%.When the feed contained 0.81% Sn, the metal recoveries were 95.45%Sn, 91.12% Pb and 88.79% at a tailing discard rate of 43.51%.
