Abstract: In view of the problems in the conventional processes for the reduction of manganese oxide ores such as low efficiency, high energy consumption, poor operation conditions and serious environment pollution, based on the high mass heat transfer principle of gas-solid fluidization, the fluidizing rapid reduction technology was adopted in the reduction roasting of manganese oxide ore.The manganese minerals in Guangxi Daxin manganese ore occurs mainly in pyrolusite (β-MnO2) and vernadite (MnO(OH)2).Fluidizing state characterized by high gas-solid heat transfer and large contact area was used to enhance the reduction roasting of manganese oxide ore.At a temperature of 750~850℃ and a CO content of 3%~6%, a conversion rate of greater than 90% was achieved at a roasting period of only 10~60s, demonstrating the scientific assumption that a rapid fluidized reduction roasting of manganese oxide ore can be made in only several ten seconds. It will promote the industrialized exploitation and utilization of low grade manganese ore resource.
