Abstract: According to the actual produced dust in a steel plant, four kinds of steel plant dusts are mixed with fibrosis bentonite prepared by the Central South University with patented technology at cue ball growing stage to strengthen the palletizing. The new pellet is compared with the conventional palletizing. The test results showed that for each kind of cue ball with ordinary bentonite dosage of 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, 2.0%, the enhancing pelletizing can significantly improve the performance of the pellets. Taking the cue ball with ordinary bentonite of 2.0% for example, the enhancing palletizing contains the total amount of bentonite increased by only 0.05% compared with the conventional pellets, while the green ball owns the drop strength and compressive strength from 18.3 times, 19.2 N/P to 21.2 times, 21.7 N/P respectively, and its explosion temperature is increasing from 240 ℃ to 274 ℃,the compressive strength and of the dry ball rise from 68 N/P to 76 N/P and its pulverization rate decreases from 0.78% to 0.51%, which totally meet the quality requirements of rotary hearth furnace reduction process.
