Abstract: Due to mining activities over the years, several panel stopes surrounded by falling rocks were formed in the overlapping area of three orebodies in Tongkeng Mine. There are many difficulties to recover this kind of ore-bodies,and potential safety hazards exist in the whole mining process. Taking mining area II in 92# pillar group as a test case and with full use of the previous engineering, new projects are arranged in view of the falling conditions in surrounding mined-out area. Mining area II is extracted efficiently and safely with the induced caving method. Ground pressure activities are reduced in time. The research provides a reference for other stopes with similar mining conditions in Tongkeng Mine.
