Analysis of Factors Influencing Magnetic Field's Characteristics in HGMS Based on ANSYS

Abstract: The magnetic field characteristics around the matrices under different ways of arrangement and combination were simulated by using ANSYS. The results showed that,it has no effect on the magnetic field strength and gradient whether the matrices are permutated aligned up and down or alternately up and down,but the latter is good for the capture of particles; Increasing the matrices filling rate in a certain extent is beneficial to improve the separation efficiency,but excessive increase of matrices filling rate will impede the flow of slurry and reduce the magnetic field strength and gradient,which is bad for the capture of magnetic particles; Using matrices of smaller cross-sectional area,suitable cross-section shape and choosing matrices of higher saturation magnetization are all good for improve the strength and gradient of the magnetic field around the matrices.
