Preparation and Utilization of Ceramsite Made of Low Silica Iron Tailings

Abstract: Taking a low silicon iron tailings as the main raw material,the paper studies the dosage of iron tailings ceramsite,and investigates the performance of tailings ceramsite in applications as lightweight concrete aggregate.The results showed that: the suitable formula for iron tailings ceramsite is the mass ratio of iron tailings,industrial powdery wastes,and KD is 75∶17∶8,finished ceramsite dosage of 920 kg/m3,cement dosage of 220 kg/m3,water-cement ratio of 0.37 (excluding water for pre-wetting ceramsite).Under the formula above,the iron tailings ceramsite concrete owns the density of 1 200, the compressive strength at LC5.0,which meet the requirement for the Insulation structure of lightweight aggregate concrete in JGJ51-2002 standard.The product owns a good insulation performance.
