Abstract: In order to ensure the absolute safety of the bottom of northern Xingshan Iron Mine dump since below it there is an important industrial square nearby，it is necessary to make load reduction and to determine the optimal load shedding scheme.The slip field theory，the numerical simulation method and the limit equilibrium analysis method are applied to make the research and evaluation on the schemes，by which the optimal load shedding scheme is achieved.The stability conclusion under the normal condition and the saturation condition is obtained.The results show that the stability of dump increased significantly after load reduction.
