Abstract: A new method is described for the determination of lithium oxide in spodumene by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic emission spectrometry sample by HCl-HNO3-HF-HClO4 mixed acids dissolved the sample. Lithium analytical spectral lines is 610362 nm for the test, observation method is radial observation, high frequency power is 11 kW,atomizing gas flow rate was 10 L/min,the peristaltic pump speed is 15 mL/min for lithium detectionSample solution medium is hydrochloric acid for concentration of 3%.When lithium oxide concentration is 0~50 mg/L,linear correlation coefficient of the concentration of lithium - spectral line intensity curve is 0999 7;Lithium content detection limit is 0007 mg/L,relative standard deviation (RSD) is 081%.The method has the advantages of lower detection limit, high sensitivity, less disturbance, good accuracy, wide linear range and easy operating. The method is suitable for accurate determination on routine analysis of lithium oxide in spodumene
