Abstract: The slope stability of soil tailings dam is closely related to lives and property safety of downstream residents.Different additives is added into tailings,so as to conduct comparison and analysis of the properties and strength of tialings under the conditions of different additives, which is very important for the stability study of soil slope.Firstly, the triaxial shear test is done under the conditions of without any additives,so as to obtain related strength parameters;secondly, the triaxial shear test under the same conditions of former test, during the test process, the contents of cement and crushed stone are both 15%,the test results and the one of the test with no additives are conducted comparison and analysis;thirdly, taken the broken bags as the additives, test of tailings strength is carried out by adopting three stain controlled triaxial apparatus,so as to study the influence of different additives on tailings strength;finally, the minimum safety coefficient of tailings dam slope under the conditions of different additives is calculated by adopting Swedish circle method and simplified Bishop method, the results show that it is feasible to improve soil slope stability by using the broken bag.The above study results in this paper has important engineering significance and reference value for improving the stability of tailing dam slope.
