Abstract: For the "two steps" mining shaft protection pillar before closing gold mine，size of mining for small cube seam is discussed.Based on the nonlinear propagation of mining overlying strata and Knothe influence function，the shaft subsidence and deformation caused by the recovery of protection pillar is predicted.It provides a basis for shaft maintenance and reinforcement and also provides a reference method for design of deep mining protection pillar and prediction of mining surrounding orebody influencing on shaft.
