Research Progress on Mineral Flotation Kinetic Model and Influencing Factors

Abstract: Flotation kinetics has received increasing attention in recent years as it can provide a quantitative description of the flotation process and help to improve the automation of mineral processing. Based on the development of flotation kinetic models, this paper reviews the influence of mineral crystal structure, mineral particle size, mineral particle shape, chemical action and flotation equipment on mineral flotation kinetics. In addition, the development of flotation kinetics is also foreseen, and it is pointed out that the use of theoretical computational analysis and the combination of mineral process and pulp fluid motion laws can further enhance the guidance of flotation kinetic models to the actual flotation process.
