Abstract: Considering the rock and soil rheological property of slope, it is proposed to use the elasto-visco-plastic constitutive model in combination with the slope stability analysis based on FEM stress field to study mainly the law of the slope stability change with time or deformation development. The correlation of the slope stability with the stress redistribution and displacement has realized a dynamic stability analysis of slope, which will be of great importance to the realization of informationized construction and stability control of slope. Meanwhile, the sensitivity of the effect of viscosity on the safety coefficient of long term slope stability is also studied. The results indicate that the value taking of the viscosity coefficient will have little effect on the long term safety coefficient after the slope is stabilized, but will have great effect on the time needed for the slope to become stable.
