Abstract: Pillarless sublevel caving has gained wide application in metal mines, where horizontal cross-section method is generally used to calculate the stratified reserve that is used in the reserve management of the production sublevels. The concept of sublevel reserve is proposed based on many years' practice. With Longdong orebody in Daye Iron Mine as the real case, the calculation method of sublevel reserve is described in detail and the calculation error is compared and analyzed. The adoption of the sublevel reserve calculation method can reduce the calculation amount, shorten the calculation cycle and improve the reliability of reserve, thus greatly facilitating the guidance on mining production, the mine loss and dilution calculation and the dynamic management of reserve. It can be reference to the similar mines.
