Abstract: The engineering process and deformation features of the construction and the retaining wall are described.Reinforced earth retaining walls are applicable to big and high walls as they are featured by strong adaptation to foundations,less land occupation and short construction period.The run-of-mine transport railway of Xingluokeng Tungsten Mine runs across deep valleys,for which reinforced earth retaining wall approach is selected after comparison with trestle option.In the design,class-II 30 m ultra high reinforced earth retaining wall is built as the road bed,which gives an annual accumulated maximum horizontal displacement of 16~83 mm and maximum sedimentation of 24~115 mm.The wall has been working well since its operation for 5 a.
