Abstract: With the iron ore imported as a staple metal mineral product in recent years, a more accurate, complete and rapid provision of the related indexes is required in international trade settlement. The testing of iron ore has become even more important, which calls for new testing techniques in the work. Now, the expansion of the list of the items to be tested and the development of the new testing techniques have exerted great effect on the testing field for iron ore. The paper describes the traditional iron ore testing techniques and the application of the new techniques and gives opinions on their future development.
