Abstract: The slope is stable in natural condition.Since the drop-slag from the upper slope, there are large deformation appeared on the surface of the slope because of a new highway excavating, and it threaten the work of the existing highway.Based on analysis of the geological condition and monitoring results, the strength reduction finite element method was used to analysis of the talus slope.The results indicate that the slope is in critical stability status, and the new drop-slag is the main cause while the rainfall during raining season is the induced reason.Some advices are proposed finally.
