Abstract: The performance indexes of weakly magnetic specularite intergrowths(0.104~0.053mm) with the intergrowth degrees of 98%,84%,57%,35%,16%,10% and 1% were determined in terms of specific gravity,specific magnetization,specific magnetic susceptibility and the adsorption of starch, and the separation analysis of the intergrowths are concluded.The results show that with the decrement of intergrowth degree, the specific gravity of the intergrowths reduces gradually, the magnetism changes from strong to weak, the inhibition of starch is less and less sensitive; the intergrowth with its degree less than 16% is readily removed by gravity separation,the intergrowth with higher degree is more easy to be recovered by magnetic separation, and the intergrowth with the degree below 10% is difficult to be recovered by magnetic separation, the intergrowth with higher degrees are more sensitive to the inhibition of starch, the recovery of reverse flotation rose with the decrement of intergrowth degree, the intergrowths with its degree above 10% are well depressed by the starch, and the inhibition effect of the starch in the anionic collector system is stronger than in the cationic system.
