Mineral Processing Experiments on a Ilmenite Ore from Shanxi

Abstract: Aiming at the characteristics of a low grade primary ilmenite ore from Shanxi, a series of experiment, including low intensity magnetic separation for priority selection of titanomagnetite, high gradient magnetic preconcentration of low intensity magnetic separation tailings, flotation desulfurization of the rough ores from preconcentration, flotation separation of ilimentite were carried out to evaluate a beneficiation scheme.The results showed that a Panxi titanomagnetite concentrate with TFe grade of 52.46% and TiO2 grade of 11.35% was obtained while the recovery rate of TFe and TiO2 were 27.63% and 16.41%.A titaniferous iron concentrate with TiO2 grade of 46.28%, recovery rate of the TiO2 45.30% were also obtained.
