Abstract: Taking the tailings of column magnetic separator of two-stage grinding cycle load in Banshi Dressing Plant of Tongsteel as samples, the re-concentration experiments by the centrifuge separator was carried out under different operating parameters in the laboratory. The results show with the drum rotation speed of 400 r/min, water spry volume of 3 L/min and slurry density of 8%, the concentrate with grade of 66.98% and recovery of 81.11% was achieved. It is therefore concluded that the centrifugal separator is efficient in re-concentrating the tailings. It can not only gets some parts of pure magnetite and rich aggregate in advance, but also decreasing the two-stage grinding cycle load to avoid the overgrinding of iron minerals, therefore the goal of increasing the metal recovery rate is achieved.
