Abstract: The content of iron in a secondary copper slag is high, but it occurs mainly in form of fayalite, resulting in difficulty to be concentrated by using traditional processing. In the experiment, the technical conditions for the iron recovery from the secondary copper slag are discussed by the process of deep reduction-magnetic separation. The result shows that under the conditions of lignite 20% and calcium oxide 8.9%,the reduction temperature at 1 250 ℃ for 3 h,the grinding fineness of -0.074 mm 70%,and the magnetic field intensity 60.8 kA/m,high-quality magnetic iron powder with the grade of 93.64% and the recovery rate of 88.08% is obtained. It contains low impurity and can be used as high-quality raw materials of weathering steel.
