Abstract: In order to provide a reference for beneficiation and purification of the low-grade magnesite ore,the single mineral flotation tests are made to investigate the influences of inhibitor sodium oleate and the dosage of lauryl amine, pulp pH value and regulators sodium hexametaphosphate and sodium silicate on floatability of magnesite and its associated minerals including dolomite, serpentine, talc and quartz. According to the results, the content of impurities associated minerals among magnesite ore were effectively reduced by firstly removing quartz, talc and part of dolomite with the reverse flotation of lauryl amine under the natural pH conditions and then separating serpentine and remained dolomite from magnesite with direct flotation of sodium oleate under pH value 11 and adding the appropriate amount of sodium hexametaphosphate.
