Abstract: The paper briefly introduces the characteristics of high-Fe bauxite resources in China，and summarizes the research status on the development and utilization of high-Fe bauxite resources.The conventional separation processes such as magnetic separation，flotation，integration of magnetic separation and flotation are the efficiency and low-consumption process for easily-separated high-Fe bauxite.Bayer method and red mud magnetizing roasting method were used to treat the high-Fe bauxite that need to be finely ground，by which the recovery of ferrous and aluminum is better gained，but Fe concentrate grade needs to be improved further.Ideal alumina and Fe products can be obtained by high temperature roasting process from high-Fe bauxite，but the production cost will be much higher.
