Abstract: Taking Huating Mining Area in Gansu Province as the research object，the mode under seven different mining-caving ratios is set up with UDEC discrete element method to study the feasibility for safety mining under the optimized mining-caving ratio and the improved mining recovery.It is concluded that the mining-caving ratio of 1∶2.5 is optimal，and it is feasible for the safety mining as the recovery is improved.It provides a certain basis for determining a reasonable mining-caving ratio for similar fully-mechanized caving faces.
