Abstract: Mining will make both overburden movement in continuous and non-continuous deformation of cracking and caving, which can cause great damage to the surface such as surface subsidence, collapse and etc.Forms, causes and hazard conditions of surface subsidence for metal mines are summarized, thinking that the main reasons of surface subsidence is underground mining goaf, digging tunnels and other underground works forming the underground chamber and empty areas.Meanwhile, mining geological structures such as faults, joints in the rocks provide a basis for the damage of rock mass, blasting vibration and groundwater pressure strengthen and develop the deformation and destruction of rock mass. Some domestic mining enterprise′s methods and engineering practices of control and monitor to ground movement, subsidence, collapse are concluded. On this basis, processing in goaf, grouting, governancing collapse area and other comprehensive measures to reduce surface damages are bring forward from the system processing, and point out that surface subsidence damage is the result of complex factors coupling effect, required from engineering analogy, monitoring analysis, numerical calculation, and other aspects of prediction and prevention .
