Abstract: In order to provide technical basis for deep utilization of iron-bearing copper slag, the conditioning tests of reduction roasting process was researched,by using domestic copper slag from grinding-copper flotation as raw materials, coke powder as the reduction agent, calcium oxide as additive, aiming at reducing iron silicate to metallic iron, and taking the quality of grinding-low intensity magnetic separation concentrate from reduction product as evaluation index basis. The results showed that:①reduction temperature and reduction time have significantly effect on reduction efficient;②the low magnetic metallic iron powder with iron grade of 92.96%,iron recovery of 93.49% and with less sulfur and phosphorus was obtained on conditions of CaO dosage of 6%,coke powder dosage of 14%,reduction time for 2 h at 1 300 ℃.So,it belongs to the steel-making additive. The SEM analysis of the deep reduction product from copper slag indicated that metallic iron fine grains had uniform particle sizes and relatively regular shape, and embedded simply without obviously inclusions of other slag phase. It provides the advantages for latter grinding and separation process and for obtaining good separation indexes.
