Abstract: Single quartz flotation experiments were conducted to test the performance a fatty acid anionic collector，which was newly developed by NEU，and the mechanism for collecting quartz was discussed via Zeta potential measurement and infrared spectrum analysis.The flotation experiments showed that when the quartz recovery was about 99.5%，the optimum pH value was above 10，the optimum dosage of CaCl2 was 0，the optimum dosage of DLG-2 was 40 mg/L，the optimum flotation temperature was 22 ℃.Zeta potential and infrared spectrum analysis showed there were electrostatic adsorption，bonding adsorption and hydrogen bonding adsorption between quartz and DLG-2.
