Abstract: The local concentration of the ocean manganese particles increased by high-speed spiral flow in deep-sea mining lifting pipe is affected by various factors. In view of this issue, based on euler-euler theory, and with the sea water containing manganese particles as flow medium, the solid-liquid two-phase fluid was numerically simulated, along with the algorithm SIMPLE and the turbulence model RNG.And the variation of local concentration of particles influenced by pipe features, material properties and slurry characteristics was analyzed. The results showed that under different working conditions, the increase of pipe diameter, particle size, particle density, angular velocity and manganese particles concentration were all conducive to the improvement of local concentration, and then the transport efficiency could be enhanced. And excessive lifting speed inhibited the local concentration of particles, thus, the transport efficiency and lifting capacity reduced. However, the pipe wall roughness and slurry viscosity have little impact on the local concentration. The research results has definite guiding significance for optimization of transport parameters and engineering applications of high-speed spiral flow in lifting pipe for deep-sea mining.
