Abstract: The underground mining in Xiaoguanzhuang iron mine has induced large movement and deformation of the ground surface and shafts.Numerical simulation of underground mining in north region of Xiaoguanzhuang iron mine was carried out using FLAC3D to provide guidance for the determination of mining scheme.According to numerical simulation of mining in -387 m stage and -450 m stage,it was known that mining in -450 m stage would lead to the increase of surface and shaft deformation inevitably, while backfilling mining can limit the development of movement and deformation.According to the comparison and analysis of simulation results of different mining schemes, the backfilling mining should be applied to explore the orebody within 150 m range outside of the safety pillar in -450 m stage. And non-pillar sublevel caving can be applied to recover the other orebodies considering the need of reducing mining cost and surface deformation.
