Abstract: Effect of residual-coal proportion on reduction-low intensity magnetic separation of low grade iron ore was studied, using mixture of residual-coal which had been reacted in rotary kiln and the raw coal in a property ratio as inner coal. The results show that the inner residual-coal in low grade iron ore pellets was not conducive to rapid reduction of iron oxide and growing up of iron grain, and metallization rate of mini-pellets decreased. But the strength of pellets was improved due to decrease of roasting pellets porosity. The grinding-low intensity magnetic separation index were preferable as the proportion of the residual-coal in inner coal was 50%.
