Determination Method of the Best Discharge Concentration for Fine Tailing Paste

Abstract: At present,the slump loss and empirical method are the main determination methods of the mass concentration of tailings paste,which is not suitable for millimeter-sized tailings.The situate mass concentration of fine grained tailings paste can be obtained effectively based on basic characteristics of materials.Taking the paste discharge of the fine copper tailings of a mine as the study background,the determination method of mass concentration of fine grained tailings is proposed based on the indicators of saturation ratio and exudation rate,the mass concentration is from 73% to 75% of fine grained tailings paste is determined by test.The rheological parameters of slurry under different conditions of concentration are obtained by conducting rheological test,the effects of tailings concentration of pipeline transfer resistance is analyzed based on pipeline transfer characteristics.Besides that,the slurry beach angle test is done to analyze the flowing property of tailings slurry in emission zones.Ultimately,the transfer property and flowing property of the tailings slurry are evaluated comprehensively and the best mass concentration of unclassified copper tailings paste is identified as 74%.
