Effect of Halloysite Nanotubes on Properties of FA-GP

Abstract

Abstract: Preparing fly ash(FA) geopolymer(GP) using FA as main material is a viable route of comprehensive utilization of FA.Influence of halloysite nanotubes on the properties of FA based GP is studied.XRD，FTIR，thermal analysis and pore size distribution and microstructure analysis for pure FA based GP and halloysite nanotubes modified FA based GP，the conclusion could be received that halloysite nanotubes could enhance the amount of cementitious composition in FA based GP，which would decrease the size and amount of pores and compact the matrix.
