Abstract: By studying the mechanical characteristics and theoretical analysis of the non-hole-through jointed rock mass in the direct shear test, the softening linear curve of the working face is deduced.Abaqus numerical simulation software is used to simulate the extension and the direct shear test of through-type jointed rock mass under different normal pressure, connectivity and fluctuation angle, and study on the relationship between the fracture expansion of the quasi-brittle materials and the fracture process zone. The strength characteristics of the non-hole-through jointed rock mass in extension were studied. The new softening linear curve was optimized, and the numerical simulation test and the results of direct shear test were compared.Based on these, the numerical simulation on the extension of non-hole-through jointed rock mass obtained by the optimized softening curve agrees well with the results of direct shear test.
