Abstract: The main raw materials demanded by Benxi Iron and iron company are sinters, however the grade level of sintering products and the variation of alkalinity greatly influence the blast furnace process.The paper describes the features of the energy scattering X-ray fluorescence spectrometer in detection of SiO2, CaO, TFe content among sinters, and its detection mechanism.The factors of resulting in error detection are analyzed and the related solutions are proposed. Through comparison of the data from the energy scattering X-ray fluorescence spectrometer with the assay data, the detection accuracy and rapidity of the instrument have been ensured.
