Experimental Research on the Preparation of Whole-tailings Paste Backfilling Material with Red Mud, Slag and Minor Clinker Aggregate

Abstract: The effect of red mud on the performance of the whole-tailings paste filling material with blast furnace slag and minor clinker has been investigated.The results showed that red mud can effectively stimulate the activity of the system.And some problems of low compressive strength at early stage can be resolved accordingly.The optimized content of the red mud is 24% of the total cementing materials.The 1 d compressive strength of the samples is 3.6 MPa, and is as much as 6.5 times of that without red mud.Besides, the 3 d and 7 d compressive strength is 5.3 MPa and 7.2 MPa respectively, which can meet the requirement of mine backfilling.
