Abstract: The iron minerals in a Sichuan iron ore occur mainly in form of oolitic hematite and limonite. With a phosphorus content of 0.604%,the ore belongs to high phosphorous refractory ore, and can not be satisfactorily processed by conventional mechanical beneficiation method. In the test, a process consisting of reduction roasting, low intensity magnetic separation and reverse flotation was used for this ore, obtaining an iron concentrate containing 60.92% iron and 0.225% phosphorus at an iron recovery of 72.74%, thus solving the difficult utilization problem of this ore due to its low iron grade and high phosphorus content.
