Abstract: This paper briefly describes the connotation and the extension of three key issues in the revision process of Safety Standards for Blasting Vibration, including the safety criterion for velocity-frequency two-factor of blasting vibration, the selection of particle velocity and acceleration, and the selection of single-component and three-component vector sum. Among them, the safety criterion for velocity -frequency two-factor of blasting vibration has reached a consensus in the developed countries, and has already been used in blasting safety regulations (GB 6722-2003). Most countries adopt blasting vibration safety standards based on velocity, but in some special industries, such as China′s nuclear power industry, acceleration is used as criteria. For the selection of single-component and vector sum,the three component vector sum peak particle velocity (actual max) is most consistent with reality. Based on a large number of in-depth and comprehensive comparative studies of related national and international documents,it is recommended that the vector sum peak particle velocity (actual max) be selected as guidance levels for blasting vibration standards.
