Abstract: Eastern area of Period-I in Makeng iron mine adopted the open stoping mining method, and the total area of the goafs covers 28 300 m², and the total volume reaches 747 000 m³.Based on characteristic of goafs and successful experience of closing down goafs and waste filling in eastern area of Period-I in Makeng iron mine, the penman discussed the handling way of goafs of combining filling and closing down which used in Makeng iron mine.
