Abstract: With the landslide in the northern slope of Deerni copper mine as the research object, selecting lithology, compressive strength, water content, weathering degree, freezing temperature and the times of freeze-thaw action as effect factor, taking different periods of massive point load test information as true value, the physical and mechanical properties of the rock are investigated with the application of chaotic neural network under the freeze-thaw action, and validated by inverse analysis and stability calculation. As the breakthrough point by deterioration of rock mass strength under the freeze-thaw action and the crack extension process in rock masses by transformation from water to ice,and combined with spatial information of the landslide, blasting and unloading effect, inhomogeneous deformation caused by overburden pressure, the landslide evolution mechanisms under the freeze-thaw action is analyzed. Results showed that: landslide evolution mechanisms under the freeze-thaw action are mainly on the deterioration of rock mass strength, the influence of fracture extension of rock mass in the process of transformation from water to ice and the worsening effect in the process of blasting and unloading.
