Abstract: The necessary treatment on risks of Linchong tailings dam is made.And the sands in tailings dams are recovered，then the recovered sands are used to fill the open pits.Through recovering the sand，the closed dams can be reclaimed to totally eliminate the risks and keep safety.On the other hand，the ecological reclamation can be realized by treating the surface open mining pits，so that both tailings dam and open mining pit are comprehensively treated.As well，the paper described the treatment proposal for tailings dam closing in detail.
